Performers

Anna is a versatile performer whose passion for improvised musicals was ignited in London. She trained as an actor at Guildford School of Acting and has studied musical improvisation with Showstopper - the improvised musical. Anna is a powerhouse who brings boundless energy and a deep love of musical improvisation to every performance.

Venla trained as a drama instructor and is also a body percussionist, tap dancer, improv director, and interaction trainer. She has gathered dance and music experience from around the world — Brazil, the USA, and Bali among others. Her favorite animal is a cat, and her role models include the anarchistic Pippi Longstocking. Venla dislikes: people who litter. She likes: playfulness and smiling bus drivers. Her other skills include horseback riding, vocal improvisation, and tasting specialty coffees.

Anna holds a Master's degree in Dance Performance from the University of the Arts Helsinki, Theatre Academy. She is a radiant performer who draws inspiration from Ronja Rövardotter's full-throttle approach to raging and welcoming spring at the top of her lungs. Anna works as a freelance dancer in various ensembles and productions across contemporary dance and theatre.

Veli is a skilled impro singer whose rhyming abilities occasionally surface through his rapping alter ego, Dr. Veli. By day he works as a data scientist, and in his free time this multi-talented musician plays clarinet and piano, makes arrangements for ensembles ranging from funk bands to salon orchestras — or draws mathematical comics.

Petra is a music educator and drama teacher by training, teaching music and expressive arts at a primary school. On the impro stage, Petra is a gifted comedienne whose performances are always a joy to watch and hear.

Vilma is an active arts student who spends her days acting at Työväen Akatemia and her evenings singing, dancing, and misting her plants. She graduated as a classical singer from Turku Conservatory in spring 2021. She names the horse from Deux as her spirit animal and believes that life tastes best with the power of ice cream.

Leevi is an expressive actor and singer who loves to throw himself into the whirlwind of improvisation. In addition to musical theatre, Leevi writes and directs films and restores cameras. His joyful approach to life is guided by the motto: "Fun first, work second."

Laura is a soulful singer and interpreter, a professional in music and theatre. Her roots in improv go back to 1997, when improvisation theatre drew her in. Impro songs, holistic presence, living in the moment, authenticity, and connection are close to her heart. Encounters, wood sauna sessions, and galloping through an autumn field on horseback make her happy.

Lauri is a versatile performer, consumer, and connoisseur of music. He is most at home behind the black and white keys, from where he provides accompaniment to any scene. If Lauri isn't at the piano, he's most likely to be found in the forest with a map, skis, or a mushroom basket.

Mika has a broad background in theatre (including acting, drama education, and social circus), has toured with his own children's shows, composed music for theatre productions, and worked in impro theatre since 2007 as both musician and actor. Today he plays keyboards in a rock band and works as a musician for adult education impro groups. Mika thinks in music — and occasionally stops to sing a melody that pops into his head into his phone for safekeeping.

Timi is a multi-instrumentalist and a hidden gem of Finnish songwriting. His percussion brings structure to Sointi's performances, and off stage Timi loves to bang on things and listen to the sounds they make.
